The red Bordeaux Blend is one of the most copied around the world and it includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec.
 

Day 1 
Upon arrival in Bordeaux, you will head to your hotel in the heart of the city. After settling in, the local Wine Guide Caroline will meet you in the hotel lobby. From there you will make your way to the nearby Ecole du Vin, for an introduction to the Bordeaux wine region, which includes a tasting and discussion of the itinerary for your trip. Following the tasting, you'll enjoy a welcome dinner on the terrace overlooking a quaint town square and nearby bistrot.

 

Day 2

The Second day begins in the city Sauternes, the most well-known sweet wine producing area of the world. You'll taste the finest sweet wines in the region at Chateau d’Yquem. After tasting some of the most delicious sweet wines available, lunch is served at the garden of La Chapelle, overlooking the vineyards of Château Guiraud. Afterwards, you'll head back north, stopping off at Château Smith Haut Lafitte, a classified growth for the Graves area. Recognized for the quality of both its red and white wines, the vineyards and winery are scattered with works of modern art, chosen by the owners, Daniel and Florence Cathiard. Back in Bordeaux city, the evening would be your own.

Day 3
Day three begins with a local historical guide who will take you on a walking tour ofBordeaux city, sharing stories and anecdotes on the way. You'll encounter the Grosse Cloche, a bell over a jail that dates back to the 18th century or see some of the regional artifacts and art at the Musée d'Aquitaine. Lunch will be in a classic bistrot, near the city’s main park. The afternoon and evening are yours to be free, relax or explore more the amazing experiences Bordeaux has to offer.

Day 4

Day four will be spent north of the city, in the Médoc, visiting famous estates such as Chateau Mouton Rothschild and Chateau Montrose. In between stops, lunch will be served at brasserie in Pauillac - Café Lavinal. Designed in a rich 1930’s style, with red benches and a long zinc bar, it is located in the hamlet adjacent to Château Lynch-Bages. Before returning to the city, the final stop would be in the appellation of Margaux, at Château D’Issan. Take in its moat, renaissance gardens, turreted walls, and then taste wine inside the walls of the château. Following the tasting, feel free to enjoy dinner in one of the city’s many renowned restaurants.

 

Day 5

Start the day crossing over the Garonne river to spend the day on the Bordeaux Right Bank. The first stop is at the a 1st growth A estate, Château Figeac in Saint-Emilion. For over 130 years the Manoncourt family has been making wine from vineyards with a large concentration of gravel, resulting in a high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. The next stop is the vineyards surrounding Saint-Emilion, overlooking the Dordogne Valley. At the classified growth estate Clos Dubreuil, owner and winemaker Benoit Trocard will be happy to share his story and wines with you over a visit and lunch. The afternoon is free to explore the amazing medieval village of Saint-Emilion and wandering its distinctive cobbled streets. By late afternoon you'll find yourself at a local wine shop, tasting wines from the Pomerol appellation. An early evening dinner will take place in the trademark walled garden of local bistrot, L’Envers du Décor in Saint-Emilion.

 

Day 6

The morning will be spent at the Marché des Capucins, Bordeaux’s largest and most authentic food market. Accompanied by a guide, you'll meet local artisan food producers and taste the best that southwest France has to offer. Afterwards, you'll set off for the Arcachon Bay's unique fishing villages of Cap Ferret. Onboard a traditional pinasse boat, you can admire the Dune duPilat, Europe’s tallest sand dune and stop off at the Île des oiseaux. It is known famous for its famous moniker The Island of Birds. Then you'll return to the village of L’Herbe, where a local oyster fisherman explains his farming methods and serve freshly caught oysters paired with savory white wines. Dinner will be outside, overlooking the picturesque bay. 

 

Day 7

After checking out from the hotel, the group heads to the Bordeaux train station where they board a direct train to the Champagne region. Upon arrival, you'll be whisked away via coach directly to Château La Marquetterie, an 18th century stately home surrounded by vineyards on the Côtes de Blancs, owned by Maison Taittinger. You'll enjoy a wine and lunch pairing, and then the group will check-in at a hotel in the historic town of Reims. Before dinner at a local brasserie, take in the sights and sounds of the city during a short walking tour including a detour via Notre-Dame de Reims Cathedral, the setting for the coronation of 25 French Kings

Day 8

The day begins heading south to the village of Aÿ, passing the famous Hautvillers vineyards of Dom Pérignon along the way. You'll visit two renowned family owned champagne houses in the Marne Valley region, ran by Edouard Brun and Henri Giraud. Here you will enjoy the tasting of a wide range of wines with unique aromas and ingredients. Next up you'll enjoy a delicious lunch at a nearby restaurant overlooking the vineyards, before having free time for exploring back in Reims. In the evening the group will be transported to Ruinart for a wine tasting in their underground chalk qaurries used to age wine. The day wraps up with a luxurious gala and dinner.

 

Day 9

In the morning the group will depart Reims via high-speed train to Paris. Upon arrival at your hotel near the Opera Garnier in the centre of the city, you will be free to have lunch at one of the many amazing restaurants overlooking the famous opera house. By mid-afternoon the groups will meet for a private walking tour of the most iconic sights Paris has to offer. After checking out some of the amazing attractions Paris has to offer you'll head back to the hotel to relax before being transported to the Seine, for an evening river cruise and dinner.
